Families with kids can automatically receive monthly Supplemental Security Income checks worth up to $687 on average.
SSI Payments
In a published article of The US Sun, an estimated around five million Americans were able to receive last month’s SSI checks. The program is dedicated to seniors, disabled adults, and children to assist financially. Usually, the checks are sent out every 1st week of the month, and those who receive both social security and SSI receive their payment on the third. Worth $687 benefits are available to disabled kids in low-income households so parents can cover their medical costs.
Certain states may send extra benefits meaning some households might get more to support their disabled children. This depends on state law, however. California, Hawaii, and Vermont are among the states that have the Social Security Administration send the benefits the state provides. This implies that beneficiaries are likely to get both state and federal payments as a single payment. Claimants got a double SSI check in December, reflecting the new cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) due to the holiday schedule.
