Stimulus Checks for Some Americans

In a recently published article in The U.S. Sun, on January 11, the last distribution of assistance funds will be made to qualified residents of the United States. More than 180,000 checks totaling $127 million are now being delivered to citizens of California. Low-income families afflicted by the current COVID-19 pandemic will get stimulus checks.

COVID-19 relief was granted by California Governor Gavin Newsom to the tune of $12 billion. Until January 11, 2022, the payments were first made in October 2021. This is the final batch of checks that will be sent out, and they will go out to people in the 928-999 zip code region who qualify.

The stimulus checks began being sent on December 27, 2021, but the tax board advised customers who received a paper check to anticipate it to take up to three weeks.

Are You Qualified?

To be eligible, your CA AGI (California’s version of gross income) must be between $1 and $75,000. California AGI comprises salaries and self-employment income, tips, interest, dividends, rental income, retirement income, and profits on the sale of a property.

You will not get a payout if your main source of income is Social Security.
It is possible that certain Social Security recipients who also get income from other sources may be eligible. In addition, you must be a legal resident of California and have submitted your 2020 tax return by the deadline of October 15, 2021.

Meanwhile, between September 1, 2021, and October 31, 2021, the majority of direct deposit stimulus payments were made. A total of 8.5 million GSS II payments have been issued by the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB). It might take up to 45 days for your tax return to be completed if you submitted it after September 1, 2019.

For a variety of reasons, the California Franchise Tax Board said it is now looking through a limited number of tax returns to assure eligibility. In addition, ITIN filers have until February 15, 2022 to submit their state returns in order to qualify for GSS II.
