There will be a new round of $500 stimulus payments for thousands of Americans to apply for next week, according to The Sun. St. Louis’ direct cash program will distribute these stimulus checks to those who were affected financially by the coronavirus pandemic.
$500 for St. Louis Residents
Low- and middle-income Americans received three separate stimulus checks totaling more than $1 trillion in a single year. The federal government’s chances of making another stimulus payment are slim to none. Several states in the United States are providing financial assistance and stimulus checks to their citizens in response to the economic downturn.
Residents of St. Louis who are eligible for $500 in direct cash assistance can now schedule appointments to apply in person. This Saturday, December 18, at St. Louis Community College Forest Park, the city of St. Louis has announced a live event, as per FOX 2. There are no walk-ins allowed.

St. Louis’ Direct Cash Program
This year’s event has a total of about 720 slots open, and they’ll take about 30 minutes to complete. To participate, individuals who want to avail the said program will need all of the required paperwork and a face mask. The event aims to provide assistance to those without internet access, and elderly and disabled people are also welcome.
As many as 9,300 families in St. Louis City are expected to receive financial assistance from the program. The $135 million direct aid package from the American Rescue Plan Act includes immediate cash assistance. Applicants must have lost income due to the pandemic and must have resided in the city for the past year in order to be eligible for assistance. The payment is only available to one member of a household at a time.
