Biden Administration to Winter Olympics in Beijing

Press secretary Jen Psaki released a statement towards the Winter Olympics in Beijing this 2022, over to the almost certain badly damaged US-China relationship. As a result, the Biden administration will not send any diplomatic or any official representation to Beijing’s 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympic Games.

Resulting from the PRC’s ongoing genocide and crimes against human rights in Xinjiang and other abuses that speculating there. Although American athletes are still allowed to join the Olympics, the Biden administration will not be sending any officials to the games. the USA team athletes will still have 100 percent full support from the White House.

The US typically sends a delegation to the Olympics, last year’s Olympics in Tokyo first lady Jill Biden led the US’s diplomatic delegation, however, it was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Moreover, President Biden acknowledged last month that he was considering a boycott over “serious concerns” with human rights issues in China. Biden reportedly talked with President Xi Jinping in China last November, but the winter Olympics in 2022 is not a part of their forum.

Xinjiang Issue

The White House is looking to send a “clear passage” to the human rights abuses in China. Psaki told the reporters at the White House briefing. Furthermore, The action marks an escalating pressure by the US over China by the allegations of forced labor and human rights abuses in China’s western region of Xinjiang, particularly butting by the Uyghur society and other cultural and religious minority groups.

It was reported previously by CBN News, Beijing is aiming at destroying China’s Muslim Uighur population as part of the broader campaign to unify the country under one ethnic identity. In Xinjiang Province, they endure torture to humanity, rape, forced sterilization, slave labor, and being stripped of their Muslim faith and told to embrace Communist ideology. Xinjiang is to counter extremism and reduce poverty.
