Fauci to Omicron Variant

On Tuesday, Doctor Anthony Fauci the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), released a statement during the White House briefing against the Omicron variant he sited that it happens be a less severe illness against other variant, although it still needs to be cautioned that the available data remains preliminary and anecdotal. In addition, the Variant that has been seen as less severe seems too early to be able to determine the precise severity of the disease. though it appears that the cases that are discovered, are less severe profile compared to the other disease of the coronavirus. Fauci said quoting. “It could be and I underline, that it might cause less severity as shown by the ratio of hospitalizations number of new Omicron cases,”

The virus also appears more transmissible but offered the same warning that it’s still early. Moreover, the information regarding the lab experiments that tested the potency of antibodies from current vaccines the effectiveness of vaccines on the variant could start to be ready by next week.

The Omicron In the U.S

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director Rochelle Walensky said that the Omicron variant has been found in at least 19 U.S. states. Furthermore, CDC is also assisting in contact tracing from a recent anime convention in New York City. she said, “it will likely give some of the earliest books in this country to the transmissibility of the Omicron variant.”

The Minnesota Department of Health announced last week that it had identified the nation’s second COVID-19 infection from the omicron variant in a resident who recently traveled to New York to attend the event from Nov. 19-21.
