Approximately 70 million Americans receive Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits, including annual cost-of-living adjustments. In 2022, eligible citizens can expect a 5.9 percent increase in their benefits, while an additional 8 million SSI recipients will begin receiving increased payments on December 30, as per SSA.
As the COVID-19 Delta variant spreads across the country, some government states are distributing payments. According to MARCA, some states in the United States have financial aid and stimulus checks available to help their citizens. It’s because this time around, the stimulus money is not coming from the federal government, as it was in the previous stimulus. The location of one’s home now has a significant impact on one’s life.
