Direct stimulus payments have been made to more than 169 million people, with a total of 2 million people receiving $1,400 checks in July. The fourth round of stimulus aid, on the other hand, is being pushed by a few lawmakers who want to send regular payments until the pandemic is over, according to CBS News.
American Rescue Plan
The American Rescue Plan, signed into law by President Joe Biden in March, has sent hundreds of millions of dollars directly to the American people, according to FOX Baltimore. Following two payments of $1,200 and $600, most Americans received a $1,400 payment in a short time.
After the third stimulus check, everyone may have exhausted all of their available resources. People who are wondering when or if there is going to be another round of stimulus checks should know that there will be none, as of now, according to Forbes. While many people are concerned about their ability to pay their monthly bills as the pandemic continues, no one expects the United States to agree on additional wide-ranging stimulus checks.
According to CBS News, at 5.2 percent, the unemployment rate is still higher than the pre-pandemic 3.5 percent figure. It’s still 5.3 million fewer employees than before the pandemic. Economists are signaling alarm with the spread of the Delta variant, with Oxford Economics recently reducing its global economic growth forecast to 5.9 percent from 6.4 percent.

The Petition
Nearly 3 million people have signed a petition urging Congress to issue $2,000 monthly stimulus checks this month. The number of signatures needed to reach the 3 million mark for the $2,000 monthly stimulus checks is just over 45,000. Several hundred thousand American citizens have signed on to this cause since the Delta variant was first introduced in May.
More than just one round of stimulus checks, the petition shows that the public is on board with regular stimulus checks. Change.org ranked Bonin’s petition as one of the top ten that changed 2020 because of the amount of support it received. As of March 30, 21 senators signed a letter to President Biden in support of recurring stimulus payments, noting that the $1,400 payment distributed by IRS will not be enough to keep people from going hungry.
U.S. senators haven’t specified how much money they want, but a separate effort from Democrats in January called for $2,000 monthly payments until the pandemic ends. For each eligible adult and dependent, the American Rescue Plan provided $1,400 in financial assistance. Some states are also implementing their versions of stimulus checks at the moment.
