There were 5.65 million stimulus checks paid out before Friday’s deadline, leaving 3.35 million more to go out. In order to ensure that every eligible Californian receives a GSII check, the funds will be distributed every two weeks.
The deadline for Californians to submit their tax returns in order to receive stimulus payments was October 15. To receive the payments, taxpayers must submit their tax returns. By the end of the year, the state of California expects to have issued the vast majority of checks and received the vast majority of direct deposits.
The Golden State Stimulus program helped Californians who the pandemic had hard-hit get back on their feet. Thus, low-income immigrants who had been left out of previous federal stimulus payments received additional assistance.
Golden State Stimulus II
Stimulus checks for California residents are part of the Golden Gate Stimulus, a $3.8 billion package passed by the state’s legislature in February. Gavin Newsom, the governor of California, enacted a $100 billion economic stimulus package back in July.
According to ABC10, If a resident made $75,000 or less in the previous year, the GSS II program in California may be able to help them out with a grant of as much as $1,100. This includes $600 for them and an additional $500 for any qualifying dependents.
When the first Golden State Stimulus check was issued, it was only available to the state’s low-income residents. If you live in California, you’ll receive your payment in the form of a refund on your 2020 tax return, rather than a direct deposit into your bank account, as per Motley The Fool. Paper checks will be sent to those who did not provide direct deposit information.
