Florida Police officials continued to search for Brian Laundrie linked with the death of Gabby Petito, his girlfriend. A number of social media users have sternly come to his defense. They alleged he was being disparaged for his baldness.
The case of the couple on the bus has ignited fury from people throughout the United States. Some people are deifying Petito. Others are lionizing Laundrie, who has been named a person of interest in the incident.
Swamping Brian Laundry’s Parents’ House
Demonstrators inundated outside Brian Laundrie’s home in Florida on Monday. They alleged that the 23-year-old’s parents did no efforts to assist police officials in the search for their runaway son as cops. The police are currently scaling back their search for the primary suspect in the murder of Petito in an alligator-infested reserve.
Social Media Frenzy
Subreddits titled r/BrianLaundrie and r/FriendsofBrian have obtained almost 2,000 members. They have grown to be clearing houses for numerous reportedly crazy and baseless conspiracy theories. A Laundrie supporter blamed Petito for being a white supremacist who schemed her own disappearance to deviate resources from missing people of color.
The hunt is being conducted in an alligator-infested nature reserve in proximity to the Florida home of Laundrie following his disappearance before the remains of Petito were discovered in a Wyoming national park. The 23-year-old has not been seen since he spoke to his parents that he will hike up the Carlton Reserve on September 14. This was in the midst of piqued media interest in the disappearance of Petito, 22, a popular YouTube and Instagram influencer who had been documenting their cross-country road trip on social media.
Petito set off on the road trip with her boyfriend from her hometown in Long Island, New York. Laundrie and Petito were engaged in July 2020 as indicated in their social media accounts. The pair documented their nomadic “van life” combing through national parks in the American West. The journey was initially intended to last four months. However, Laundrie came back home to Florida alone on September 1.
