On Jan. 26 at 11:06 p.m. the Springfield Police Department initiated a vehicle pursuit of a stolen Dodge Neon at Chestnut and College. The pursuit ended at 11:30 p.m. after the suspect vehicle crashed into a house at 889 N. State Highway T. A lone male suspect fled the scene and was not apprehended.

On Jan. 27 at about 3 a.m. a lone white male suspect in his 30s broke into a nearby home. The residents were assaulted and restrained inside the home. The suspect stole their white 2001 four-door Chevy Impala, MO LIC YE5-K0K along with a .22 rifle from the residence. The suspect may have received injuries during the assault on the couple.

The suspect was last seen wearing all camo and left the home at approximately 4:30 a.m.

The couple has been transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office believes the pursuit may be related to this incident given the time of occurrence and close proximity to the two events. Call 911 if you see the stolen vehicle or have any information regarding the incident. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
