Panda Express celebrates Springfield opening with free food

Panda Express is celebrating the opening of its location at 720 N. Glenstone, Springfield Jan. 3, Jan. 4. and Jan. 5.

• Jan. 3: The first 50 guests received a free two-entree plate and a 22-ounce drink.

• Jan. 4: all guests who bring in two non-perishable items to donate to Ozarks Food Harvest will receive a free two-entree plate and a 22-ounce drink. Pei-Pei, the restaurant chain's mascot, will be on site to greet guests.

• Jan. 5: All members of the police department, fire department and veterans will receive a free two-entree plate and a 22-ounce drink. Guests may wear their uniform or show ID to receive this offer.

This restaurant employees 20 associates who were hired from the local community. The second Panda Express restaurant in Springfield will open at the end of January on East Independent Street.
